We are a bible based non-denominational, multi-racial, family church located in Dix Hills, New York. We have been serving God and the community for over 30 years and each day continue to grow through guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Upper Room Ministries was founded around a kitchen table, which then progressed to a house basement in Deer Park. As the work rapidly grew, the need for a bigger venue became necessary, and by the Lord’s faithful hand, Upper Room moved into its first sanctuary in 1980, where Bishop Anthony D’Onofrio began declaring that Long Island will become the Lord’s Island.
Upper Room has been the forerunner in bringing food, clothing, and prayer to all who need a helping hand. This burden for the lost and hurting is evident in the many outreaches to the community and evident in our Mercy House food pantry. As one of the largest in the tri-state area, this mega church spans over 16 acres, houses 2 sanctuaries and seats 4,000. Included on the premises are a family life center, a full gymnasium and a Christian School that serves Kindergarten to 12th grade, and has served as such for the past 3 decades.

Statement of Faith
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings; the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21)
We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14)
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for sins, according to the Scriptures. Furthermore, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of the Majesty on High. He is now our High Priest and Advocate with the Father. (John 1:1; Luke 2:35, I Corinthians 15: 3, 4)
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age, to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service. (John 15:26; John 16:8) We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues, according to Acts 2:4, is the promise of the Father, and is available to all believers who ask. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8)
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin, and is therefore lost. It is only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (Genesis 1:2; Romans 5:12)
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become believers. (John 3:3, John 1:12, John 3:16)
We believe that water baptism for the believer and the Lord’s Supper for the believer (Communion) are ordinances to be observed by the church during this present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as the means of salvation. (Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 11:23-26)
We believe that the true church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been born anew by the Holy Spirit, and are united together in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. (I Corinthians 12:12-14)
We believe in the personal and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that this “blessed hope” has vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. (I Thessalonians 4:13-16)
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer’s everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting, conscious punishment. (I Corinthians 15:51-54)

History
It has been over 30 years since the Lord birth Upper Room Christian World Center. That length of time alone bears witness to the rich ministry and to the many lives that have been touched with God’s love and power in Christ here at Upper Room Christian World Center. What a thrill it is for me to share this milestone moment in our history with all of you.
I would like to take this opportunity to reminisce with you about our humble beginnings as a fledgling church just springing up in the New York area. Our congregation began as a small gathering around a dining room table where the Word of God was taught and a few hungry hearts gathered to encounter the demonstration of the Holy Spirit in signs, wonders and miracles. Our numbers grew, and we relocated to a basement. Finally, in 1980, to accommodate the rapid expansion we experienced, we moved into our first building here on Long Island, at 722 Deer Park Road. Since then, thousands have come through our doors, and we anticipate the continual drawing of multiplied thousands, surrendering their lives to the One who is our only Hope for the future, the Lord Jesus Christ.
After taking inventory of our past I marvel at how glorious it has been, but I also know that the future holds even greater possibilities for each of us, and our families, as we journey together into this unfolding destiny called Upper Room. You can be certain that our greatest work is ahead of us and that our nation and world have never needed the true Church and its gospel message of love and restoration more than now. Not all of us were there when it all began, but we were drawn together, and all of us are here now, privileged to be the ‘stewards and guardians’ of the glorious future God has planned for us.
The community of believers fellowshipping at Upper Room was formed and fashioned by God for the express purpose of shouldering the glory of God, to carry it to the nations of the world. It is no accident that we are a multi-racial, cross-cultural church body from all walks of life, and have age groups spanning generations. We have been divinely brought together to reveal Jesus, the Christ, and make him visible to the community and the world. That’s who we are and what we’re about. That’s what we’re aiming for and endeavoring to accomplish. Beloved, let us continue together as we rejoice in the Lord and in the power of his might, ‘Moving Forward’ as a corporate expression of God’s love and mercy. We at Upper Room Christian World Center have been richly blessed by our glorious past, and as we celebrate over 30 years of ministry together. Now let us make this declaration with great assurance …. The Best is Yet to Come!
